Flute Class in Mont Kiara

Teacher's profile
-Experienced in both performing & education field.
-Bachelor Degree (HONS) in music, majoring flute performance (National Academy of Arts, Cultural and Heritage). Accepted into Dean's list for 5 semesters.
-Diploma in classical music (MIA), majoring flute.
-Licentiate (LTCL) Trinity Guildhall Diploma, Flute Recital.
-Flute Grade 8.
-Represented Malaysia for International Symposium Music and Socio-cultural Development of ASEAN, Bangkok Thailand 2016. As classical flute player.
-Played as principal flutist in KLPAC Symphonic Band.
-Played as principal flutist in SPWO for their chapter 1 concert.
-Played as principal flutist in ASWARA Orchestra.
-Played as principal flutist in Air Symphony Wind Orchestra.
-Guest tutor for ISKL Music Camp 2017.
-Ms. Chew is a professional flutist based in KL area. She only teaches flute and focused on flute performing and teaching. Because she believes focusing on one thing and make that thing great is better than know everything but not doing great.
-She is the private teacher of music university students such as Aswara and Segi College Music.

-Theory may include for beginners. There is not a problem for those who don’t know how to read score.
-For leisure and exam purpose.
-Prepare student for both ABRSM and Trinity exam. /or other examination board (practical)
-Prepare student for ABRSM theory exam (as per request).

What is the age to start learn flute?
-It’s great to start learning music at an early age, but parents must make sure students are both physically and academically ready to begin studying the flute.
-The most important factor when starting flute is deciding whether or not the student’s hands are large enough to facilitate playing its numerous keys. 
- As a wind instrument, it is also important that the student has the developed lung capacity to play at the earliest lessons usually begin around age 7 or 8.
-Young student can use a curve head joint to reduce the overall length of the flute, while not affecting the overall sound quality or technique.

How about adult?
-Adult class available, it is never too late to learn music.
-Lessons are specially design for different age group.

What student will learn in the lesson?
-Student will know how to hold the flute correctly, the proper posture, the fingering and how to breathe while playing the flute.
-Beginner will learn how to read music score in the lesson.
-Student will learn musical knowledge from basic to advance level.
-Student will learn to improve their tone colour, intonation and techniques to play flute.
-Different material, exercises and songs are played in the lesson.

-Language : Chinese, English, Malay, Cantonese.
